We have, so far, enjoyed some great opportunities for fellowship and learning. The Prayer Breakfast in the southern area, was delicious, entertaining and we were given some very insightful information.  On Oct. 11th, at Laurel Ridge Community College, we gathered to hear from representatives of the Kilby-Baldwin and Kilby families.  Through research, these women learned of their connection in the past.  Again, a time of sharing, fellowship, question and answers and a terrific moment of truth and learning. They co-wrote the book “Cousins”.

We met on Oct. 2nd to have our District Annual Meeting.  It is such a blessing to hear and see how the hardworking women of our District have been rewarded.  We also review our calendar, budget, slate of officers and share in our candle burning.  This gesture represents our work in mission giving for the year.

It is hard to believe that plans for our Christmas celebration are being made.  The meal will be held on Dec. 1st and 2ndstarting at 12noon. (Choose Mon. or Tues..). Reservations may be made with Sharon Harold. (sharold714@aol.com), H-540-879-2270, C-540-246-4940. Last date for reservations is Nov.21st. Payment may be made day of your meal. Checks are made payable to Camp Overlook.  The cost is $18.00.  Our books from the Library will be available.

I truly believe the verse from Hebrews 11:1 says so much to us. “Faith is the reality of which we hope for, the proof of what we don’t see.” (CEB)

We continue, in faith, to be the hands and feet of Christ. Our desire is to make a difference for

Those in need. Blessings to my sisters,

Barbara Phillips, Co Vice President
