Hello to all! I hope you have enjoyed your summer, even though it has certainly been a hot one!
Our Equipment for Caring volunteers have remained busy providing medical equipment and disposable supplies for people in our community who have personal care and wound care needs. We increasingly encounter people who are not covered by insurance, cannot afford insurance, or simply “fall through the cracks” when insurance coverage leaves gaps in their care.
Chronic care needs can be overwhelming, and Equipment for Caring helps meet those needs, as well as the temporary needs that arise following surgery, illness, or accidents.
During the first seven months of 2026, we have helped more than 370 people. We distribute an average of 1,700–2,000 disposable incontinence supplies each month.
During July alone, we provided:
- 3 hospital beds
- 10 bedside commodes
- 10 shower chairs
- 13 rollators
- 5 walkers
- 11 wheelchairs
- 4 transport chairs
- And many other smaller items
There is no pause in medical needs, regardless of the season or time of year. We are deeply grateful for your continued donations, which make it possible for us to provide these essential resources to our neighbors in need.
Our volunteers also continue to give generously of their time. During the month of August, our volunteers contributed 72 hours of service.
