Clothes Closet

Hello and happy holidays from all of us at the Children’s Clothes Closet! November was very busy, even though we were closed Thanksgiving week. We added an extra client day the week before to offer another opportunity to get clothes and diapers. We saw 347 children and gave out almost 8,000 diapers in November! We will also be closed Christmas week but are adding a client day on December 17th.
Last month we requested donations of boys’ pants, and Keezletown UMC responded generously with a boys’ pants drive – thank you so much! They go like hotcakes, so we still need boys’ pants, especially sizes 6, 7 and 8. I guess the boys just wear them out and that is why we never have enough! Another item on our wish list is winter gloves – boys’ and girls’ – all sizes.
Please remember us when you are planning your mission events. We recently enjoyed a volunteer visit by Toms Brook UMC, and would welcome other groups to come in, even if just for a day. There is always plenty of work to do, and we truly appreciate the help!
We ask for prayers for healing and strength for our director, Artie Frederick. Next to Jesus, she is the heart and soul of our mission ministry.
We wish you all a joyful and blessed Christmas!

Equipment for Caring
October was a busy and productive month for Equipment for Caring, with our volunteers giving more than 84 hours of their time in service. We assisted 83 individuals in need of disposable and durable medical equipment.
We continue to have an overabundance of hospital beds, so if you or someone you know could benefit from one, please contact us.
This month, we distributed 2,000 disposable incontinence items—including diapers, pull-ups, pads, and skin care products. We also provided a battery-powered wheelchair to one individual and loaned a variety of durable medical equipment, including:
- Walkers
- Wheelchairs
- Transport chairs
- Shower chairs and benches
- Bedside commodes and raised toilet seats
- Knee scooters
- Hospital beds with rails and mattresses
We are excited to share that we now have a new community poster! We hope you’ll spot it around town. If your church or organization would like one, please stop by and pick one up. A heartfelt thank you to Crystal Walters for creating it.
To all who support this ministry—through volunteering, donations, spreading the word, and prayer—thank you. We are truly grateful for God’s blessings, and as we enter this season of Thanksgiving, I am reminded of the many hands and hearts that make this ministry possible.
