Equipment for Caring Continues to Serve Our Community

Equipment for Caring remains located at Mt. Tabor UMC, 8335 North Valley Pike, Rockingham, Virginia, and continues to meet a growing need for medical equipment and disposable supplies throughout our community.

  • 8 hospital beds
  • 25 bedside commodes
  • 61 shower chairs and tub benches
  • 11 knee scooters
  • 32 rollators
  • 19 walkers
  • 26 wheelchairs
  • 9 transport chairs

In addition, we distributed more than 1,500–2,000 disposable incontinence products each month, along with numerous smaller items that assist individuals with daily living activities.

Recently, Equipment for Caring participated in the Sentara RMH Health Fair, providing an opportunity to share information about this ministry with healthcare staff and community organizations. We also learned about many agencies and organizations that offer valuable resources and support for individuals facing a variety of needs and circumstances.

We are excited to continue raising awareness of this ministry and plan to have a display at the upcoming Annual Conference in Harrisonburg in 2 weeks..

This ministry is made possible through the dedication of our volunteers, who assist visitors, distribute supplies, clean equipment, and ensure that all items are safe and ready for use. We are always grateful for additional volunteers and welcome anyone interested in serving. If you would like to become involved, please contact Delores Reid or speak with one of our current volunteers.

Financial donations are also greatly appreciated, as they help sustain and expand this important ministry.
