On August 27, 2026, Kingsway Prison and Family Outreach held its Annual Banquet Fundraiser at the Weyers Cave Community Center. Cosmic Bar-B-Q catered the event with a delicious meal of pulled chicken, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, and baked beans. Dessert included homemade sugar cookies or molasses cookies, along with a bag of Route 11 chips to round out the meal.

More than 200 guests attended, creating a festive atmosphere—even as the heavens opened, the wind blew, and rain came pouring down. Guests hurried inside, where they were welcomed by smiling faces and warm hospitality.

Throughout the evening, testimonies were shared about how difficult times became easier when God was brought into the lives of individuals. These stories were a wonderful reminder of the difference faith and compassion can make.

As a nonprofit organization, Kingsway depends on fundraisers and the generosity of others to continue its ministry. We could not do what we do without YOU! It is because of your compassion, kindness, and love for Jesus that this ministry is able to reach so many people.

Last year, Kingsway was able to provide approximately 7,600 Christmas gifts to inmates. This year, we are preparing to provide more than 8,000 gifts. For many inmates, these may be the only Christmas gifts they receive. Many have no family left, or they are no longer in contact with their families.

Last year, we were also able to provide gifts to youth in the Detention Center in Staunton through the Apple Tree Project. This is where your generosity shone especially brightly—400 children had Christmas because of YOU!

Help us make it happen again! Help us be the hands and feet of Jesus as we live out Matthew 25 and serve “the least of these.”

  • Collect toothpaste: Please collect toothpaste that is at least 3 ounces but no larger than 6 ounces. Please do not donate Crest with Scope.
  • Support the Apple Tree Project: Have your church contact Kingsway to learn how you can help provide Christmas for a child.

Every dollar entrusted to Kingsway goes directly into the ministry. We send cards to approximately 8,000 inmates about seven times a year, as well as birthday cards to approximately 2,700 inmates. With the rising cost of postage, this is an expensive part of the ministry, but these cards are an important way for inmates to receive the reminder that someone is thinking about them.

Help us help them! No one wants to be forgotten.
