We are definitely in the season of Fall here at Overlook. Our weekends are filled with groups camping, holding retreats, and enjoying the beauty that surrounds us. We have had a few of our groups enjoy Haywagon Rides along the Old Camp Road and one of our Women’s Groups even tackled the Climbing Wall and Zipline.
We are currently preparing for November 8th when we will be having our Fall Work Day and hosting the Shenandoah River District Conference. We hope that many will join us for the day or just an hour to help clean up the camp grounds and facilities after a busy summer and fall. We will have projects inside including washing windows, cleaning ledges, and painting to projects outside including cleaning gutters, cutting trees, and splitting wood. Christmas 2025 Celebrate the Season UWF – flyer
We are also planning for other upcoming events like the UWF Christmas Lunches on December 1st and 2nd and the Walk to the Manger on Saturday, December 20th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. We will be holding a Winter Camp on the weekend of January 16th – 18th (MLK weekend) and a Youth/Confirmation Retreat on March 20th – 22nd followed by an Open House in the afternoon of the 22nd.
In the area of improvements, we are still working on the updates in the Blessings Lodge. So far we have changed most of the bedding in the rooms, replaced the lights in the bedrooms, and laid new floor in the Dining, Otterbein, and Asbury Rooms. We have also replaced the Convection Oven in the Blessings Lodge kitchen. New dishwashers will soon be installed in both kitchens (Agape Hill and Blessings Lodge). We greatly appreciate all financial support we receive for these improvements. If you would like to give to these projects specifically, please designate that on your check or description online.
